ROMAN ANDOR is a multitalented Artist primarily working as a Composer and Musician. Influenced by his Slavic and Balkan roots, the 29 year old German fuses traditional and World and Folk elements with Classical Music, Rock, Jazz and experimental Electronic sounds. Over the years, the multi-instrumentalist has scored various adverts, theatre plays, Films, TV series as well as collaborating with a variety of songwriters, artist and other musicians around the world. His music has been released on major labels and used by internationally acclaimed companies such as Universal Music, Dynamedion and many more. Learning his craft during his fruitful studies as a classically trained musician, Roman holds a Master of Music (MMus) degree in Production of Popular Music (Kingston University London) and Master of Arts (MA) in Popular Music as Composing/Producing Artist (Popakademie Mannheim). Besides, he is also a main part of several other projects:
Roman Andor‘s music style must be referred to as eclectic. Not only does he live his creativity up in various projects where he follows the concept of very different stylistic choices but also as his main alias his output is quite diverse. Having written for TV, Games and more, Roman‘s music is heavily influenced by Balkan and Slavic harmonics and sounds; music that captures the emotion and wants to evoke an instant response. Besides composing atmospheric instrumental music that is influenced by modern composers such as Yann Tiersen and Philipp Glass and classical masters such as Shostakovich and Chopin alike, he is also developing his own singer-songwriter approach: Cinematic folk that refers to a grand reservoir of world music traditions and musical textures.
Being a multi-instrumentalist himself and having graduated in a music production and composition course (MMus & MA), Andor is also an experienced arranger; especially concerning intimate ensemble choices such as chamber music (string quartet) or conceptualizing shouts and choirs for brass sections. He has completely arranged and partially written the orchestral parts in Novaa‘s debut album NOVAA (including epic songs like „Club Paradise“ as well as dark and sinister vibes in „Madhouse“). Also, he produced and played the cello on the title track of the album „Zwischen Meinen Zeilen“ by German artist LEA.
With roots in heavy rock music as well as classical music and 50s-70s sounds Roman combines the knowledge of past areas with the production technology and expertise of today. He‘s composed Rock and J-Pop tracks for the acclaimed HITMAN game, string and chamber music and very experimental hybrids for Theatre and dance performances (i.e. „Slowly“, London 2017). Moreover, he can also perform a lot of it himself instead of using digital samples.
Over the years Roman has mastered several instruments and uses them regularly in his compositions and productions to maintain the real human touch that sometimes gets lost in modern productions where most instruments come straight out of the computer. He has played the following instruments on official tracks: Electric Guitar (6-, 7-, & 8-String), Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin, Oud, Ukulele, Drums, Cello, Violin, Viola, several Percussion & Recorder. He has also sung on a variety of tracks of different genres using Pop-, Classical- as well as guttural Vocals.
Roman also works as a regular mixing and mastering engineer. He has polished music that ranges from Acoustic Pop, Rock, over Electronic Music up to Chamber styles. Get a quote now!
With over 10 years of experience in digital and analog production Roman has worked with all sorts of clients already. He successfully produced corporate Music for BASF, Games, Adverts, TV as well as for Artists such as LEA and NOVAA.
In today's music industry the vocals have to stand out. This is not only about the performance of the respective singer but also about the takes are being put together and the sound is processed. Roman has proven himself an expert in Vocal production having worked on choir performances and individual pop songs alike.
Do you want to hear how a viking sounds? A soothing and calm male voice? Or probably going totally crazy?. Roman has done all of it manifesting his vocal range and dynamics. Get a voice saple now!
Influenced by Baroque music, extreme metal, philosophy, literature and the postmodern era of pastiche, this project is a disturbing, yet refreshing and entertaining experience one cannot forget. An expressive musical theatre with a vocal performance of two musicians that would even leave the great Mike Patton speechless.
